Were any of you actually surprised that Clinton said that she and McCain were qualified to be president, while Obama was not?
This isn't Mark Penn's strategy, it's been Hillary and Bill's strategy since they started their time on the national stage: pummel Democrats and their policies to appear even handed and centrist, perform some level of race baiting to convince whites to vote for you, and lie about your qualifications and positions to fool people across the political spectrum. That is why, after all, they hire right leaning hatchet-men like Mark Penn and Dick Morris to advise them on how to best betray Democrats to gain centrist votes for themselves.
The Clintons' brand of politics is, and always has been, bad for the Democratic Party.
