The Transformers were one of my favorite childhood cartoons, and I am still pissed at Michael Bay for ruining the movie. He turned it into a stupid, unfun action movie with lots of pretty special effects. Sure, the material was a little thin (the Transformers were a cartoon based on a toy) but look at what magic was done with Pirates of the Caribbean, which was a movie based on a ride. Imagine if this movie had been given to a young director with a subtler sense of humor and an appreciation for the Transformers. Well, you don't have to imagine, look at this scene from the low budget 1980s cartoon Transformers movie, and think about how much fun a well done Transformers movie could have been.
Come on! They could have at least given us an hair rock soundtrack as wonderful as the one in this movie!
